The sets are designed almost exclusively in blocky colors — dull reds and olive greens, for example — and have that vaguely unrealistic, clean, multicolored look that led me to believe the intent was to pay homage to the films of the era in which a film was shot. installed. Drew Starkey is capable of playing a more subtle role as Eugene’s manipulator, and he certainly shows a conservative side. Leslie Manville is unrecognizably like a doctor living in the jungles of South America – kudos to the make-up team! It seems to me that this film is more about the artistic style than the content of the narrative.
